I found it interesting that you memtioned the Kavanagh family as having been a witness or sponsor. When my g. g. grandparents, John Moran and Margaret Walsh, were married 21 Nov 1819 in Kildare Rathangan RC Parish, Biddy (Nickname for Bridget) Kavanagh was listed as the witness. No other individual was listed. I have often wondered about her since she was a witness. I have decided to do some research on the Kavanagh family.
