My Great-Grandmother Bridget Hughes is said to have come
from this area around 1850 to 1860, going from Ireland to
Liverpool, her final destination being New Orleans, La. USA.
The family (in USA) said she married a Thomas O'Reilly from
Canada, who's was also from Ireland and was a Sea Captain.
Bridget is burried in New Orleans, La. and she had two sons
William Thomas O'Reilly (my grandfather) and James who was
killed early in life in a hunting accident, (he was Born in
ABT 1864 and died ABT. 1884.
The Family can not find any info on the births or the
marriage of this couple. We are certain they were Catholic,
the only info we have on William (Reilly) and James (Reilly)
is in the 1870 USA Census of Orleans Parrish, La. Both boys
and their mother Bridget (Reilly) were in The ST. Mary's Orph.
Charters Street, New Orleans, La. The boys were students and
Bridget was a washer women.
If any person knows Bridget's info in Ireland her family
or any direction we can start looking.
