Barrett family St Mary's in Listowel
Posted by: Edward O'Connor, Jr. (ID *****7796) Date: October 25, 2008 at 11:08:08
  of 1091

My great grandmother was Catherine Barrett who was baptized at St. Mary's Presbytery in Listowel, County Kerry Ireland in June of 1866. Catherine had nine siblings.
Their parents were Edward(Edmond)Barrett and Mary Corridan(sp?).

Catherine made her way to the US and settled in Holyoke, MA where she married my great grandfather, Jeremiah Donoghue. Besides Catherine, Margaret, Bridget and Johanna Barrett also made their way to Holyoke, MA and married. Margaret married John Maloney and while Bridget and then Johanna married a Patrick Sheehan. Another Joanna likely died fairly young.

That leaves Mary, Ellen, John, Thomas and Honora unaccounted for. I'd like to find out if any of the others emigrated to the US. I'd also like to know if I have any cousins whose lines stem from any of the above ?

All of the Barrett siblings were born in a range from 1860-1880 and were the children of Edward(Edmond)Barrett and Mary Corridan( Corriden/Corridon
