Hello Mary,

I'm sorry I have no information on Michael's parents. Only that Mary could be his Mothers name. His birth year has to be 1820/21 as his Death Certificate states he was 35yrs old when he died on the 6th July 1856. He enlisted at Cork Cove aged 17yrs, so I always thought that may help with my search and Kerry would not have been too far to travel. There are Kilcummin's in Galway and Co. Mayo, and I've researched and been in touch with the Archives in both areas with no joy! Everyone I've contacted has been really helpful but I've still to find Michael's roots.

My sincere thanks for your help Mary, it's greatly appreciated.

Best wishes,
Elizabeth

PS I'll be away for a few days from tomorrow, and will reply to any messages from you on my return.
