Hi Jim, Thank you so much for looking for Henry! The record you found is his brother, Michael, from Annaghdown Parish...the only record of the family we've found there. The brothers went to work in the Wigan coal mines, so it seems unlikely they were related to the John French who was a wealthy member of the landed gentry in Annaghdown. Their mother Mary Cain French remarried in 1839 to Thomas Newell. their descendants are in Lancashire and the Eastern U.S., but our Frenches and their townland remain a mystery as does Mary's family around Annaghdown. Mary had William Kean/O'Kean as witness for her marriage and son's birth..maybe a brother or father? Anyone have connections to these folks in Annaghdown Parish or thereabouts? Other related names are Wood, Donnelly, Malloy/Mulloy.
Best of luck to you, Jim and to all who take the time to read this..
