Hi Joni: I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,700,000 surviving rcds for abt 72% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800. Co Donegal rcds were added to this database July 7, 2009. Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%. Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database. Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome). For Jos(eph) Hayden B 1912 (exact), Ballinasloe RC parish, Co. Galway, I found 1 rcd for Joseph Dermot. For Martin Hayden B 1908 ditto, I found 1 rcd. For Marg(aret) Hayden B 1907 ditto, I found 1 rcd. For Mich(ael) Hayden M 1904 +/- 3 yrs somewhere in Ireland, I found 2 rcds in 1904 Kilkenny, 1-civil, 1-church. These may be duplicates. For Marg(aret) Connell M ditto, I found 38 rcds, but none matched those for Michael. The lack of matching M rcds means you can't identify their parents' names while looking through their B rcds. For Mich(ael) Hayden B 1866 +/- 4 yrs, Nenagh RC & CP, Co. Tipperary, with the father's forename unknown, I found 4 rcds: 1866 & 1870 civil parish, and the same for the RC parish. These may be duplicates. Father's forenames were Michael, and William in both parish/districts. For Marg(aret) Connell B 1874 +/- 4 yrs, Co. Galway, ditto, I found 10 rcds: 1870, 1871, 2-1872, 2-1873, 1876, and 3-1877. Father's forenames James, Mathew, Martin, ?, John, n/r, Patrick, Thomas, Patrick, and Patrick. Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg. Hope this helps.
