I am seeking info on my ancestor Maria MCCARTHY (MCCARTY or CARTY) born in Ballinasloe, Galway approx. 1839. Her father's name was Patrick and mother's name Honora/Hannora Clarke/Clark(?). She emigrated to the Victorian goldfields (Ballarat region)some time around 1857 and records suggest she married Thomas COSWELLO/COSEVELLO from Italy in Ballarat around 1858/59 however I've been unable to find marriage or birth certification. If anyone knows anyone or family matching any of these details, please contact me to compare notes. Regards.
