Ben,

My records for Thomas and Bernard match your records found the census. I am a downline decendent of Bernard Smith. His son Joseph Francis Smith is my great-grandfather. Joseph's sister Ann married John Bonney of Westby, a Lancshire Police Constable, they had two sons Edward and Bernard. Bernard married Walburge Smith and had a son John Joseph Bonney. Walburga Smith was Joseph Francis Smith daughter, making Bernard and Walburga 1st cousins. Joseph Francis was a sacristan at St. Walburge's church. Joseph's youngest daughter Ann is my grandmother. Joseph and another brother lived with Ann prior to Joseph's wedding to Mary Ellen McKearney of Preston. My tree with Smith family pictures is located on Ancestry.com.

Tom
