Old Letter from Nathaniel Ewing to Pres. James K. Polk – Thomas Gillespie b. 1719 d. Rowan Co. NC was a great grandfather of Pres. J.K. Polk. Descendants of Thomas Gillespie have taken the DNA test and belong to DNA Group 1.
A descendant of Maj. Robert Rollo Gillespie of Cherry Valley, Co. Down, Ireland is also a DNA match to Thomas Gillespie b. 1719 of Rowan Co. North Carolina, USA.
