Looking for John Copeland, born abt. 1844 / 45 Ireland. Wife Sarah Jane? may just be Jane, children : William, B. 1867, Thomas, B 1871, Martha Gow, B. abt 1874.
All born Ireland but living in Scotland according to the 1881 and 1891 Scotland census.

On the 1881 they are at: Registration district: Bridgeton, Civil Parish: Glasgow Barony, County: Lanarkshire, Address: 167 Main St .
On the 1891 Only John, wife Sarah and son William are listed and they are at :
Bridgeton , Civil Parish: Glasgow Barony, Town: Glasgow, County: Lanarkshire Address: 20 Savoy St

Martha Gow Copeland would be my Great Grandmother, She Married, June 30, 1894 Halifax Nova Scotia. I have no idea when she left Scotland and arrived in Halifax Nova Scotia, or what happen to her brother Thomas. Have not been able to find him or the rest of the family. My cousin wrote to Scotland trying to get birth, marriage and family records and received a letter stating the family was from Ireland and came to Scotland. I did find a John and Sarah Jane (Christie) Copeland and a son Thomas in Newtown Ards, Down, Ireland but can not find any family with all three children. Any ideas, suggestions or if anything sounds familiar please let me know.

Carol
