Although Chistine [nee Morrogh] Nagle appears in Burke as a daughter of James Morrogh [d 1805] this is not accurate. She was his sister. That is why James was a godfather to her daughter Jane Nagle in 1791 and James daughter Elizabeth [Shea] was a goddaughter to James mORROGH nAGLE IN 1800.
The Burke 1957 AND ifr 1977 both have a major error as it confused James Morrogh of Mallow Lane Cork with his cousin James Morrogh of Kilworth.James Morrogh of Kilworth m 1767 Alice Moylan and from this marriage are descended the Kilworth branch.
James Morrogh of Mallow Lane m 1780 his distant cousin Jane B. 1761 and Baptised at St Finbarrs. Her father was Geotge Morrogh and her mother was Mary Sarsfield, her paternal grandfather was Henry Morrogh of Lisbon.
James' father was Edmond Morrogh of Mallow Lane who married Mary Nagle. This is correctly recorded in the Burke of 1879.
In the Burke of 1957 Edmond Morrogh [Mallow Lane] is incorrectly shown as a son of an earlier James Morrogh, in fact a generation had been ommitted,James was his grandfather. The missing generation is Henry Morrogh [wifes 1.Jane Galwey 2 Frances Galwey]. This Henry's Will was burned in 1922 but I found a copy in the Consitorial Court records at Canterbury. He listed all his children in this Will including Edmond.
