Hello Mark,
In the Tithe Applotment Books of 1825 for the Parish of Kilmurry-McMahon there is a Widow O'Donnell shown to be living in the Village Knock about 7 miles from Kilrush. Also in the townland of Ballycurrane less than a mile up the road from Knock Village there is a James Carmody. You can see the Tithe Indexes at the Clare Library website, genealogy section, at . Unfortunately the Parish Records for Kilmurry-McMahon don't begin until 1845. I have the same problem with my family as they also came from Knock/Ballycurrane.
