Shannon is a town in Co Clare but it did not exist until the 1940's when it was built to accomodate workers at the newly built Shannon Airport. In the 1820's what is Shannon today would have been in the Parish of Newmarket on Fergus. The townlands would have been Rineanna, Tullyglass, Tullyvarraga and Drumline. Is it possible she came from the village of Mountshannon in East Clare?
