McINERNEY Bridget , Arr' Tasmania 1850

Allegedly Bridget McInerney came from Co Clare in Ireland where she lived with her brother Michael prior to her transportation to Tasmania arriving May 9 1850 on the ship EARL GREY for “Stealing a Cow”.

McINERNEY Bridget =KING William [Tasmania 1851]
Bridget & William KING’s marriage was registered at Fingal in Tasmania in August 1851, their children were:
Jane [B 1853], Mary Ann [B 1854], Margaret [B 1857], Bridget [B 1859], Eliza [B 1859] – presumed to be a twin sister of Bridget, another daughter {B1860], Thomas [B 1862] and Richard [B 1865].

As an aside [and possibly due to Irish brogue being misunderstood in oral & written language of the time, Bridget’s McINERNEY surname has been variously shown as McMERNEY, NAUGHTNEY, McNAUGHTON & McNUTNEY.

I am maternally directly related to their son, Thomas [B 1862].
