Hello, I am hoping someone can help me, any info would be greatly appreciated. I have been searching for years and this is all I have been able to find.
DURNEY/BRYAN/Brien/not positive of spelling, /DONOGHUE
I am looking for John Durney b. abt 1824 Clare Co. married to Mary BRYAN/Brien/O'Brian/etc. she was b. abt. 3/11/1833 Killarney, Clare Co., Ireland and married bef 1854 possibly in Kilkenny, possibly Kells, possibly Callan.
They had some children in Ireland, Catherine b. abt 1854 and maybe a John, then they moved to Swansea, Wales where they had James Joseph b. 1856, William b. 1858, Mary b. 1860 and Joannah/Johanna b. 1865.
I think Mary's parents were Denis Brien and Mary Donoghue, Mary Brien born abt. 3/11/1833, Killarney, Clare Co., Ireland.
Joannah married a Capt. McCormick/McCormack/not sure of spelling and do not know first name, in the Royal Navy and he died at sea, their infant son died near that time and she went to America (Pennsylvania), at the request of her brother, where she later met and married William Stewart Smith in 1892.
Brother James Joseph Durney went to America (Pennsylvania) met and married Annie Theresa Lyons 11/28/1886 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Annie was from Ireland, and Catherine stayed in Wales and married William Hannagahan abt 1874. They had a daughter Mary.
John Durney died 1/24/1879 St. Martin, Liverpool, Lancaster Co., England. I believe Mary Bryan Durney died aft 1881 possibly Wales, not sure.
John and Mary's children were born:
Catherine bef 1854 ?, Ireland
John abt 1854 Clare Co., Ireland
James Joseph 3/18/1856 Swansea, Wales
William 6/26/1858 Swansea, Wales
Mary 10/13/1860 Swansea, Wales
Joannah (aka Johannah) 1/24/1865 Swansea, Wales
Anastasia Durney is a cousin of John. I was in contact with a cousin Jim Durney (Anastasia was his Aunt) in London several years ago but he passed away before he could send me family info he had. I have tried in vane to reach Jim's adopted daughter, but she refuses to answer email or letters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
