Jean, my GGrandfather came from Clare. His name was John Maloney born about 1836. He was a pensioner of the British Army. Once he left the army he married in about 1879 to Margaret Sullivan (born 1860)from Ardfert, Kerry. After marrying they had a son (Dan) then left for Canada. They had 10 more children. Nothing is known of them in Ireland. I don't know if he had any other family.
