Walsh/Welsh/Welch

Our great, great, greatgrandfather Walter Welch was in America by 1773 with family in Ireland. He had a son born in America in 1773. Does anyone in County Clare have a Walter Welch in their ancesty that could possibly match our Walter Walsh/Welsh/Welch? There could possibly be a variation of the name Walter. Thanks for any assistance you can give.
