British Army--Ennis--1925

Hello everyone...

My GGG Grandfather, Michael Moore, enlisted in the British Army on December 17, 1925 at Ennis. 15 years of his military career was with the 23 Foot Regiment and 9 years was with the Royal Canadian Rifles.

I'm trying to find some information that would help me piece together my GGG Grandfather's life. For instance...

I don't know if he married while in the army or after he was discharged (July 31, 1850). I don't see anything in in his military records that state whether he was single or married. Don't military records usually have this information?

Also, if he was with the 23rd Foot Regiment at the time he came to Canada, would he have come to Canada with the regiment, perhaps on a ship with only troops?

If there is anyone out there that could give me some general british army information, or even specific information on the 23rd Foot Regiment or the Royal Canadian Rifles, I would appreciate it.

Regards

...Danny Moore
