Am trying to find out just what a householder means....

We have my G-g-grandfathers sister's marriage registration that shows the following

Elizabeth Kane/Keane and add an O' to the surname married
Michael John O'Connor [tailor] Oct 16th 1882 Roman Catholic Chapel of Allen Co Kildare Ireland..... both have Mylerstown Co Kildare Ireland as Residence.

On the Marriage registration it states that Lizzys father Michael Kane [Tailor] was alive......Michael Johns father Michael O"Connor [Householder] was dead....

Elizabeth was br Aug of 1856 Mylerstown Co Kildare
Michael John was br in Nov of 1857 ????? Co Clare.

We have info re Lizzys family parents and siblings but Michael John her husband we only have his fathers name and info as stated on the marriage registration.

We have been trying to find out info re his place of birth in Clare and so far members of his lines have come up empty....

I was in the Clare site yesterday and found in Griffins Evaluation a number of Michael O'Connors for Co Clare....

Since I am going on Householder to be a person that owns a house I went to

Land Owners of 1876 Clare Co.

There were 3 O'Connors

O’Connor, Daniel, Moyree Common, Ruan, co. Clare

O’Connor, Edmond, Moyree Common, Ruan, co. Clare.

O’Connor, Michael, Moyree Common, Ruan, co. Clare

Went back to Griffiths and found

O'Connor Michael Moyree Commons Ruan Corrofin

I also found the following that shows how much land each man had

Property owners County Clare circa 1870

Daniel O'Connor Moyree Common, Ruan, Co. Clare 4 acres.
Edmond O'Connor same address 11 acres.
Michael O'Connor same address 30 acres.

So this Michael O'Connor was there for the Griffiths Eval. count and then also there for the Land Owners count....both befor and after Michael Johns bith yr of 1857

Now if a Householder means that they owned a house then they would have to have land to put the house on wouldn't they?

Have I found something or am I way off base here and just wishing I found something

Thank you
