I think we have some relatives in common.

Agnes Loftus, (daughter of Michael Loftus & Bridget McGloon) is my Great Grandmother. She married my Great Grandfather John J. Hanrahan (son of Andrew Hanrahan & Bridget McMahon of County Clare)

My Loftus relatives settled in Madison County Iowa. Here is a brief bio on Michael Loftus. I have a little more info on this Loftus family if you want it. Email me & let me know what you think.

LOFTUS, Michael, farmer, Sec. 13; P. O. Bevington; born in the west of Ireland, in the year 1817; was married to Miss Bridget McGloon Jan 20, 1845; two years after he was married, he emigrated to Canada, where he lived for about eight years; then came to Des Moines, Iowa, where he lived for only about two months, and came to this county where he now lives; he owns 229 1/2 acres of land; they have a family of seven children, two sons and five daughters: William, Catharine, Maria, Margaret, Mike, Ann and Agnes.
