My G-grandparents Bridget Rielly and Thomas McGovern were both born in Cavan
Thomas born abt 1862 (Parents Francis McGovern and Catherine Prior) in Knockmore Co Cavan migrated to Australia on the "Clyde" Arr Sydney 3/4/1879 listed as Labourer later was a cab proprietor able to read and write died 1904
Bridget born abt 1864 (Parents Charles Reilly and Mary Freehill)in Ballyconnell Co Cavan migrated to australia on the "Abergeldie" arr Sydney 23/12/1884 listed as domestic able to read and write died 1937 she ran a boarding House after Thomas died and maybe before
Both were buried in the R/C section Waverly Cemetary
They married 5/5/1892 Church of St Francis Paddington New South Wales
Children
Francis Patrick 1893-1939 never married no issue
Mary Aileen 1895-1968 2 sons inc my Dad
Kathleen Thomasina 1898-1899
Thomas Bede 1900-1973 2 daughters
But where did they come from? Did they have other family in Aus? And who were their ancestors? Did they know each other before coming to Aus
They died quite comfortably off owning a house in Paddington named "Knockmore" which still stands
