I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds B4 1840 are sparse, B4 1800 rare. I only search the 65% which are.

For Pat(rick) Masterson B 1833 +/- 4 yrs in Cavan, I found 7 B rcds: 3-1829, 2-1835, & 2-1836. Note - none of these match the 1833 date you listed. One of these MAY be for your ancestor; The chances are < 20%. For these, the fathers' names and corresponding marriages are shown below:
Date Forename. . . . Marriage
1829 L(aurence). . . 1826
1829 Patrick . . . . . .1828, 1828, 1826, 1829
1829 Thomas. . . . . . No rcd in Cavan
1835 Patrick . . . . . .1828, 1828, 1829
1835 Anthony . . . . . . No rcd in Cavan
1836 Thomas. . . . . 1834
1836 Patrick . . . . . .1828, 1828, 1829

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to the database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
