Hamilton: Cty Cavan, IRE to Cold Spring, Putnam, NY

Looking for ancestors/descendants of Alexander and Sarah(Hall) Hamilton who came from Ryefield, County Cavan, Ireland in 1832. They briefly settled in NYC (Brooklyn) and then at Cold Spring, NY where worked in the Foundry.

One son was Thomas H. Hamilton who married Catherine Hayt (b. Ireland) and of Newburgh, NY at the time of their marriage. Thomas was a veteran of the Civil War first serving as 1SG of G/38th NYVI and later under the alias Thomas Hall with the 19th NY Ind Arty Battery.

Catherine died about 1884 and Thomas in 1904.

Thank you in advance.

Vince Knapp
