I saw your entry on Genealogy.com from March 2006 and many names of your McCabe relatives match mine, but the dates may be off. Here is what I have.

Michael McCabe and his wife Mary Ann (maiden name Tiernan or McTiernan?) McCabe came to U.S. around 1840 or so. Unsure of what country, maybe Clare or Armagh.
An infant son died before they came here or on the ship and buried at sea.
Their other children were:
Patrick, 1842 in Lockport, NY, My great grandfather.
James, 1848
John Charles, 1845
Mary Ann, ?

According to Census records, the family lived in Brantford, Ontario. Some of their children were born in Brantford, some in Lockport, NY.

Michael died before 1853 and Mary Ann remarried Martin Farrell in 1853.
