McDONALD, McCARTNEY
Posted by: Fran Ruddick (ID *****6395) Date: October 17, 2007 at 15:37:04

John McDonald b Scotland while visiting relatives in Rich Hills Armagh, in 1772, joined a company of 16 other young men immigrating to US, three of whom were his cousins from Rich Hills. Their names probably either McDonald or McCartney. They sailed for Baltimore Maryland. John McDonald's father also named John McDonald, mother was Isabella McCartney; grandfather was a Captain John McDonald. Any lead or suggestion on obtaining info on port of departure, ship, the Rich Hills family would be greatly appreciated, or Scottish origins would be greatly appreciated.
