My Great-great grandfather was a John Beatty/Beattie from Keady, Co. Armagh, born C1837. His marriage certificate gives his father as Hugh Beatty whom I would estimate was born c1815. I visit Keady on a 4/6 week basis to visit relations and have met with a Robert Beattie there - but haven't as yet established a link to my Beattie ancestors. As forenames seem to be carried down through the generations, there is a possibility of a link between your Robert and the Robert I met. There might also be a link to my ancestors.
