Griffiths Valuation for 1862 records a Matthew Kyle in Gortgole townland just outside Portglenone. He had a small house on a bigger farm, typical of one occupied by weavers. Plot 30b in Griffiths. Should be easy enough to locate today should you wish to do so, though the actual cottage may not still be standing.

The family were Presbyterians and probably attended church in Portglenone. There are 3 Pres churches there. Copies of their surviving records are held in PRONI, Belfast.
