Researching my wife's grandfather. A very interesting man. We have conflicting information about his birthplace and birth name. His original name may have been: Wasil Dbeth Malik Warda of Zerini, Jilu of Kurdistan, Assyria -- or Ze rini, Ashirat, Djelo -- or Nineveh (now) Mosul, Iraq. Born May 14, 1893 died Turlock, CA May 6, 1948. Ordained to the piesthood of the Nestorian Church of the East in January 1948 in Chicago (his residence was Oberlin, OH). He came to the U.S. via Cuba in 1916. Would like to hear from anyone that may have information on him or his family. Also, could use help with exactly where the first two locations are on today's maps.
