Thank you very much for your reply. I appreciate it. Since you seem knowledgable about that area, perhaps you might be able to help me again.

I have been searching for the immigration records for the two brothers, which was 1913. They were just not there, at least under Rowell, but I found two names which I believe might be them, as the birthdates and the immigration year matches, but the names are spelled very differently. I found two brothers from Persia:

Polis Ruel and Schmuel Ruel (Paul Rowell and Samuel Rowell?) who immigrated in 1913 and whose years of birth appear to match what I found in later census records.

The Ruel brothers said they were born in Urmia, Persia. There were also two other Ruel's, one whose age could have enabled him to be the father and a woman, 24, who could be a sister (both guesses).

My question is: Would the English/American way of spelling Ruel be Rowell? Appreciate any input. Thank you very much.
