Assalaamu alaikum,

jazakallah khair : Awans came in india with Sultan Mehmood gaznawi along with Niazi tribe,
Qutab shah was a commander of Sultan's army and he estabilished a trouser camp in Soon sakesar valley near khushab. he was having foure sons and there family is residing in sheikhupura, gujrat, and soon valley sakesar.
if you want to read about Awans you can consult a trusted book name: ZAD-UL-AWAN
however in british author book History of nations described that Awans belong to Rajput family which is not true and author does not have any evedence for that.
Awan (auwn) is arabic word and meaning helping people.
if we consider your statment true then why Sayeds( Hashmis) are also residing in this area?
Allah Hafiz

Malik Zia Sultan Awan
