Hi Leda,
I am American native and living in Austria for more as 30 years now. I went to Iran 2 times (1990 and 1993). I have the Austrian and Iranian citicenship and had no problems to get back to Austria after my journey. You just have to ask if there has to be a green stamp in your passport which has to be given from the Iranian Embassy before leaving your country.
