hi Fred,
I am unsure of any connection. However during WW11 I recall receiving parcels from USA of food I believe. (I was young at that time) However on the death of my parents I found photos various of Shirley (possibly born 1925) in the Sequoia trees in Yosemite(I think). Also an address torn from an airmail letter with a San Diego address. Sadly no one to ask about connections.
In a family album there is a photo of a vicar taken in Oxford I believe possibly 1900, but who knows.
If these points jog your memory let me know.
