Dennis, Getting beyond the ranting, which is OK, but here is what I got out of your message: "how to transfer files to 2012 FTM, and how to straighten out all the stuff that gets messed up, or lost, with a new program" When you install FTM2012 it will find and open your existing Family Files. If it doesn't find your file(s), where are your Family Tree Maker files? You straighten up, clean up, your information as you have in the past. You should NOT loose any information from your previous version files, when it's opened in FTM2012. I have many old files that are now running in FTM2012.
