Bobby (and others)---Unless there is a mistake in my Kanawha Co (W)V marriage book, the marriage of Martha Insco and William Hill took place 28 October 1839 (not 1838), and the record (submitted by the minister J. Martin) indicates her father was "Wells Insco", not William as indicated. I thought this might be a misinterpretation of the handwriting (for example, Wells for Will) BUT then found a second marriage 1 October 1854 when James M. Pine married Elizabeth Thompson, 34, a widow, who was listed (by James M. Brown, the minister) as the daughter of "Wells and Pamela Inscoe". I had never seen any mention of "Wells Insco(e) before (but I had seen William in the 1850 census of Kanawha Co (W)V. What do you think? Bud Carder
