According to the Handy Book Warren County was not formed until 1824 so I don't think there will be any answers to the early questions there. Warren was formed from Sussex County but Sussex has no land records until 1800 and no marriage records before 1795. They do have civil court records from 1753. I don't know if that would help or not. Most of the early wills and administrations that do exist for NJ have been printed in the New Jersey Archives. The state also published an index of New Jersey wills. Deeds from 1664-1703 are in the New Jersey Archives and from 1664-1790 are in the office of the Secretary of State. Early in my research I paid for a preliminary search from NJ but turned up nothing that was of interest to me. I will admit however that at that time I didn't know there were so many spelling variations. Obadiah was my ancestor and I know where he was from 1788 on.
