Dear Deborah,

S. P. - common initials in genealogy: SINE PAROLE = without issue, i.e. without having had children. It is found in good genealogical books.

The following are derived from SP:

Died SPM, without male children
Died SP LEGIT, without legitimate children
Died SPM LEGIT, without legitimate male children
Etc.
