Oak Leaf inscription

I am wondering if anyone knows of any special significance of an Oak Leaf decoration carved onto a tombstone.

The stone is from the late 1800's; is it only a Victorian era decoration, or is there some meaning?

Has anyone else seen this?

thanks for any help

kate
