Archelaus was one of my ancestors through his daughter Eleanor Innis who married John Huckins Mudgett. He married Elizabeth Cotton who was born in Holderness, NH.
According to Census reports, he lived in Holderness before moving to Grafton. I do not know where Archelaus was born.
He apparently was born about 1767 and died in Grafton, NH on 6 March 1830.
He had a one son named Asa and a daughter named Eleanor. He apparently had other children of whom I know nothing.
Someone had indicated to me that Archelaus's parents were John Innis and Dorothy Simpson, but I have not been able to verify this.
This is about all I know for the moment.
I have assumed that Archelaus is of Scottish heritage. Innis is a variant of the Innes Clan name. Many Scots apparently ended up in New Hampshire.
