Hi Burdette
My great grandmother was born in Halifax because its on three census that I have seen so far. She told my grandmother that when she died she wanted to be put in her box and in the river in Manchester so she could float back to her homeland...very sad. My great grandfather was 10 years older than her and he must have died around 1901 census because I cant find them. We are not sure whether her maiden name was spelt Innes or Innis. I am helping my uncle who has not got a computer and is at a dead end now. I think my next step would be to find her death certificate and that of my great grandfathers then maybe I will be able to piece things together. What do you think? Because she died here do you think her birth certificate will be in Nova Scotia or here in the UK? I would appreciate any help you can give me as I am a novice.
Regards Jenny
