"Caithness Family History" is a book written in 1884 by John Henderson, who was factor (land steward) to many of the estates of Caithness. The book deals with all the landed gentry of the various estates of Caithness, from the earliest records in wills and leases up until the 1880s. This is written by a man who knew the families personally, and had no trouble telling apart the many people of the same name who were around at the time. Most of the families are named Sinclair, but there are a few Innes families intermarried. I have just transcribed and cross-referenced this book, which is available on my website, http://www.FionaMSinclair.co.uk Every person is cross-referenced by hyperlinks, so that you can easily see which of many people of the same name is actually referred to. There should be no more excuse for all the websites that I have seen in which people have been married off to their own grandchildren. I have also included some information about the location of the places. I hope that we shall see less websites on which Ulbster is in Ireland, or Rosslyn in Caithness. Gentle hint - I am doing this in the hope of getting some customers, so please also visit my website. Notify Administrator about this message?
