I have a Hugh Innes, born 1729, as a 4th great-grandfather. He was born in Scotland and is thought to have immigrated to Virginia in the mid-1770's. He was married to Hannah Eggleston. Among his children were Hugh Innes, born 1778, my 3rd great-grandfather. He was married to Charlotte Irwin in 1800. This Hugh was born in Henry County, Virginia, and moved to Kentucky in 1797, following the death of his father. Among the other children of the elder Hugh was Elizabeth E. Innes, born around 1787, who moved to Fayette County, Kentucky with her sister, Margaret MacKay (Innes) Patterson and this sister's spouse, Robert Patterson. Several of the Patterson children moved to Tennessee. I have no information as to whether this Elizabeth Innes was married or who her husband may have been.
