INNES: Post-disruption registration of births in Dundee
I have reason to believe that my great, great, great grandparents, DANIEL INNES and ELIZABETH FORBES, residing in Gellatly Street, DUNDEE, may have been members of St. Peter's church and followed the congregation into the Free Church at the disruption. They had, I think three children: Mary Ann (born 1841/2), Daniel (born 1843/4) and Alexander (born 1845/6) but I can find no record of their births in the Old Parish Registers. I contacted the Dundee City Archives who, I understood, held the St. Peter’s church records but they say they have nothing earlier than 1870. Does anyone know if any earlier records exist and, if so, where they might be found?
