DeAnna,
Hi, I have heard that too but so far I don't think that it has been proven. There are a lot of Hinks and Hinkes around. My question has always been WHY? If INKS and HINKS/HINKES are the same, surely someone would have corrected the INKS before too long. I just can't understand why a whole family of literate people would not have been able to spell their own name. I do realize that some of them could NOT read or write, but on the other hand, most of them could. Recently, I was searching at the LDS center and ran across a Jane INKS in England in the 1600's.I don't have the file on hand right now, but I was really curious about that little tidbit of information. It was the only INKS I have ever found there. I don't know, it is an interesting puzzle. Maybe together, someday, we can solve it. I am from William INKS line, what line do you descend from? Would be glad to share information with you if there is anything I can help with.
Mandy
