Hi,
I too would like to know about the Inks family, which may well be the Unks family to some.On my Rosar side, who married Hayhurst, the Rosar's and the Hayhurst sides both had Unks in their families.
My grandfather was Louis Warner Hayhurst, and my grandmother was Edna May Rosar (Hayhurst). There is supposedly a trail from the Inks or Unks with the Warner family, and the Hayhurst and the Starkey families. It may not be in that order exactly, but that is how it seems to go.
The Hayhurst family also seems to have relatives with the Corcoran family, which some spell as Cochran, and this again has Corcoran ties with the Rosar family. Some I think are confusing the Rosar family spelling with the Rieser spelling and the Rosser spelling.I have seen my great grandfather, Peter Francis Rosar's name spelled in each spelling, and no one traces him exact for through the Rosar family of Scranton, PA, who is where he was from.He was either murdered, or committed suicide in Butte, Montana on 14 March, 1913, and yet the family says that he was murdered and refuse to agree with the Coroner's death certificate that says the 14th, when family likes to be like Caesar and say the "Ides of March."Anyhow, back to the Hayhurst's.
Louis's father was something like Worcester, Worster, Wooster Hayhurst. At least that is what the family has called him.He testified in the trial against Wyatt Earp, so the newspaper's say.Louis may have had a sister named or nicknamed as Hazel, but I have found no Hazel by herself, and there somehow is a connection to the name of Opal somewhere in the family but that might be farther off.
So, I hope that this helps you some. The Hayhurst family came out of PA, and then went to WV and to Texas and around the South, and then to SD and Oregon. We are of the one's who finally arrived in Oregon. The Starkey family (Starks?) were around WV and so were the Hayes of which we were related as well.Originally the Hayhurst's were out of England and Wales, but some may have been out of Scotland as well.
Keep in touch and write to me at my e-mail address.Make sure that you head the e-amil as Hayhurst Family, or it might be overlooked in the Junk Mail, as that is where everyone's mail goes until I change it.
