Haven't a clue if they all connected but we think our WILLIAM W. INGRAM b. 1816 NC was from around McNairy Co. TN then may have been with DAVID NICHOLS in HARDIN CO. TN, as DAVID NICHOLS had made several trips into ARKANSAS prior to his moving there from HARDIN CO. TN. We suspect that our WILLIAM W. INGRAM could be out of the line of NEEDHAM INGRAM and wife of NC who lived in McNAIRY CO. TN as they had a son named WILLIAM INGRAM who disappeared and they thought he was dead. My guess is that WILLIAM INGRAM ran away with the NICHOLS to ARKANSAS and married MARTHA NICHOLS before 1839. There is a WILLIAM INGRAM listed below in HARDIN Co. TN TAX LIST with DAVID NICHOLS, but not sure he is ours . .

Hardin Co. TN TAX LIST is a WM. INGRAM, but unknown if he is same individual as Wm. W. Ingram who moved to Carroll/ Boone Co. AR and had wife MARTHA NICHOLS who is daughter of DAVID NICHOLS of HARDIN CO. TN. David NICHOLS also moved to Carroll / Boone Co. AR as well. ( See David Nichols ( father in law of William W. Ingram ) listed below with other HARDIN CO. TN families of NICHLOLS. David Nichols is in Carroll Co. AR by 1850 Census.

This INGRAM family in McNairy Co. TN who I think our WILLIAM W. INGRAM might be related to is. .

NEEDHAM INGRAM and wife NANCY KING had info posted as below and I wrote to this person asking her if she thought our WILLIAM W. INGRAM is their missing WILLIAM and she thought it was a possibility but they didn't have any more data to really know. So this is what I had found that she had posted and then had written her when she replied it looked good to be our William who was son of Needham Ingram Sr. b. 1780 NC but they just didn't have info to really know. You might try researching this INGRAM line too, and see if there are any other INGRAMS in the areas where yours lived that could be related to NEEDHAM INGRAM Sr. b. May 27, 1780 in Johnston Co. NC.

" Have no idea where William died , if in NC or not."

This is all we found on our trip to McNairy and Hardin Co. TN in their library or Court house files :

SISTLERS, “Early Middle TN Marriages” Vol. 2 on Brides and many MARTHA NICHOLS listed but none had married WILLIAM W. INGRAM or any INGRAM.

Earliest Census data in McNairy Co. TN Court House was the 1830-1840 Census showing :

Nichol Daniel 000020001 000000001 pg. 128 Yr. 1830
Nichols George 21120101 0011001 133 1830
Nickers Jeremiah 00001 20001 125 1830
Nickles Daniel 1 1 24 house 704 1840
Nickls King 1 4 13 house 371

Ingraham Alexander 2 1 38 House 1141 1840
Held 1 slave

Ingraham John S. 3 2 33 House 1001 1840
Held 2 slaves

Ingram John S. 1120001 02 147 1830

Ingram, Nancy 0 2 1 House 12 1840
Held 6 slaves

( So Nancy King Ingram was still alive in 1840 as she didn’t die until 1855 in McNairy Co. TN but her husband NEEDHAM INGRAM, Sr. had died in Oct. 1835 so she is listed alone on the 1840 McNairy Co. TN Census with 2 other persons living in House 12 in 1840. )

“Ingram Cemetery is located in SW part of county about 4 miles north of highway 57 on the old Russell place about a mile south of Eureka Cemetery. There are dozens of unmarked graves only 5 marker are still standing.”

INGRAM, Nancy S 27 May 1777 July 1855 Ingram Wf. NEEDHAM, Sr.
INGRAM, Needham Sr. S 27 May 1780 Oct 1835 Ingram son, Joseph & Alice
INGRAM, William S. S 11 Sep 1837 9 Feb. 1938 Ingram

INGRAM, Needham Sr. S 27 May 1780 Oct 1835 Ingram son, Joseph & Alice
INGRAM, William S. S 11 Sep 1837 9 Feb. 1938 Ingram

( this William S. Ingram must be a grandson of Needham Sr. but have not verified him yet. )
Nancy King is wife of NEEDHAM INGRAM, Sr. and there are many, many Kings in the McNairy Co. TN area cemeteries ( 5 pages listed in cemeteries there ). One of earliest is a JOHN KING b. 26 Dec. 1828 who d. Mar 7, 1903 and buried in Indian Creek Cemetery. Those Kings with no dates, might be of same age as NANCY KING, but none are listed with dates of birth in 1777 era, and John b. 1828 is about the earliest born King listed.
