Hi Robin,
You may already be aware of this but if not, try searching for Jean rather than Jane as these two names seem completely interchangeable. My Mum was baptised as Jane but has always been known as Jean!

If you look at the IGI it has a Hugh Haddow marrying a Jean Inglis about 1847 Of, Sanquhar, Dumfries, Scotland and all the children are on there too.
