Sandy, Our old family bible said that William's dates are 21 October, 1749 to 20 June, 1828. Grace Davidson Inglis's dates are 17 June, 1750 to 1816. They were apparently married in Edinburgh in 1768. The OPR Index of Births and Christenings shows 2 Williams born/christened at that time: one in Abercorn Parish on October 19, and another in Clackmannan Parish on 15 September. The parents of the first one are William and Janet Savage Inglis, and the parents of the second one are William and Betty Webster Inglis. The OPR shows Grace (Grissel) Davidson's birth/christening on the exact date as our family bible and in Canongate parish. Her parents were Archibald and Janet Balderston Davidson. I have two questions for you: What records do you have of a son of William and Grace named James? The family bible says that William is his father, but I have never been able to find any official records showing this. In fact, most records that list William's and Grace's children have no mention of a James. Second question: even though it appears that William was buried on the banks of the South Fork of Lee Creek, the grave stone next to him lists his wife as Mary. This cannot refer to William's daughter Marion because she married a Gilruth and is buried in another city. I have been unable to figure this out. Did William remarry after Grace died? Where is Grace buried? Can you shed any light on this? Thanks, Sandi in Idaho Notify Administrator about this message?
