There is a book called: The Story of Mary Draper Ingles and son Thomas Ingles as told by John Ingles, Sr.
Edited by Roberta Ingles Steele and Andrew Lewis Ingles.
I am researching the other William Ingles of Montgomery Co., VA who is a possible brother to the older Thomas Ingles. Seems this William Ingles was lost in the history books because of the popularity of William Ingles and his wife Mary Draper. The older William Ingles children were: John, Matthew and Ann. Ann was married to a Higgins. Her son John Higgins, was mention as a grandson in the older William Ingles' will. John Higgins was a witness to the will of William Ingles, husband of Mary Draper. Both wills were made out in Sep 1782. The older William Ingles will was dated 5 Sep 1782 and witness by: Abram Trigg, Bird Smith, Thomas Ingles and Joseph Hix/Hes. The younger William Ingles will was dated 26 Sep 1782 and witness by: James Skaggs, John Higgins and Jacob Shilling. John Higgins was married to Martha Skaggs daughter of James and Susannah Skaggs. This James Skaggs also sold land to John Ingles just before moving to TN.
Would be happy to exchange info.
