Catharine:

I hope this email reaches you. I found your posting at http://genforum.genealogy.com/ingles/messages/310.html as I was looking to see if any of C.H. Ingles’ descendants might still be living. I’m your distant cousin, descended from Cyrus’s sister, Sarah Ingles O’Keefe. I’d love to exchange information with you about the families.

Cyrus first caught my attention when he generously went to Atlanta at the end of the Civil War to help Sarah settle her husband’s estate. Cornelius O’Keefe, the husband, had been a merchant in South Carolina, Tennessee, and eventually Atlanta, but he died intestate around September 1865. Cyrus and another brother, William, came to help Sarah close things up and move back to East Tennessee with her two small children.

At any rate, I’d love to compare notes if you’re interested. My sister, by the way, is named for Mary Draper Ingles.
