From the April 20 1793 Knoxville Gazette:
"Found: About the middle of January last, a red and white spotted yearling HEIFER came to my plantation with my catle from the range. Said Heifer is marked with a smooth crop in the left ear, and an under half crop in the right. The owner is desired to come and prove his property, pay charges and take it away. Thomas Ingles Knox County, April 11, 1793"
This is not my family, I am posting for your research.
